Basic information
Today, the serious problems of unevenness and inequality of water resources have been available in various regions, especially in terms of quantity. It will become more severe day by day. It can be seen that there is damage from floods as well as droughts that occur more frequently and are more severe in various provinces. This also includes inefficient water resource management for serving agriculture, industry, service sectors and residents. Therefore, the development of human resources to gain knowledge and understanding of relevant factors including the efficient integrated water management inevitably. According to research, it is able to generate or extend knowledge and understanding of various factors for managing water resource, finding the academic solution for overcoming flooding and water shortage problems, and then transferring the knowledge to all stakeholders who applied it successfully and sustainably.
Therefore, the Water Resource Research Center (WRRC), Naresuan University, has been established in order to (1) to pilot cooperation with educational institutions and various agencies which related to lead to a research network on the water resources; (2) to carry out the research, academic services and knowledge, technology and innovation transfer; and (3) to support teaching and research in higher education institutions. The joint research team includes the academics inside and outside this research center in Naresuan University and other higher education institutions both domestically and abroad to carry out research, academic services and transfer of water resources technology and innovation for sustainable use of water resources in all regions of Thailand, ASEAN or Asia Pacific.
